Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Jarrard Burnette, age 88, of Anderson, SC, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born March 30, 1933, in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Oliver Jarrard and Maggie Corrine Milford Jarrard. Libby formerly worked at Orr Mill and Appleton Mill and was retired from BASF. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Anderson where she was a former Sunday School teacher and sang with the Baraca Sunday School class. In her spare time Libby enjoyed baking cakes for family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, Harold M. Burnette; children, Elander Phillips (Thomas), Tony Burnette (Becky), and Jeff Burnette (Solange); sisters, Kay Lynn Grant and Gail Parker; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Perry Jay Burnette. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 29, 2022, from 10:00-11:00 am at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am in the Chapel with Rev. Dr. Josh Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Anderson, 307 S.
