LILLIAN SLATON MULLENIXJune 29, 1921 - July 4, 2009ANDERSON, SCLillian Slaton Mullenix, age 88, a resident of Summit Place and formerly of Neville Way in Anderson, wife of the late Fred Wade Mullenix, passed away at the Rainey Hospice House on Saturday, July 4, 2009.Born in Lincolnton, GA, Lillian was the daughter of the late James Olin and Bertha Sharpton Slaton. She retired from Anderson County where she worked in the Tax Collector's office. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she had worked in the Children's Department.She is survived by a son, Dennis Mullenix and his wife Twila, of Anderson; a daughter, Fredda Caffey and her husband Cliff, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; a sister, Ruth Tinsley of Thomson, GA; two grandsons, Jason B. Mullenix and his wife Dora and Joshua K. Mullenix and his wife Kristin; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Mullenix was predeceased by her brothers, J.W. and William Slaton.The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Dr. James R. Thomason officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM.Flowers are optional.
