She is survived by her daughter, Gayle Rockow Lever and son-in-law, Clyde Jefferson Lever, Jr., of Fair Play, SC; her granddaughter, Kristen Lever Bowen and husband, Kyle Wayne Bowen and two great grandchildren, Parker Kyle Bowen and Kendall Grace Bowen, all of Suwanee, GA. She was preceded in death by her brother, Henry Clifford Blakewood in 2008 and his wife, Martha Sauls Blakewood in 2007.Born August 28, 1915, in Hampton County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Cora Ginn Blakewood and Henry Clifford Blakewood from the Estill, SC area. A 1933 graduate of Estill High School where she was a star player on the girls' basketball team, she moved to Walterboro, SC, where she worked for Rizer Ford Motor Sales as their bookkeeper. She married Harvey Paul Rockow from Cleveland, OH, in 1944. In the early 1950's she took an accounting position with DuPont at the Savannah River Plant and lived in Aiken, SC, until her retirement in 1977. After ten years in the Batesburg-Leesville area living on Lake Murray, she moved to Buford, GA, to be with her daughter and family.She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Aiken, SC, from 1951-1977, Beulah United Methodist Church in Gilbert, SC, from 1977-1987, and Fair Play Presbyterian Church since 2003. Until she lost her sight her hobbies included knitting, cross-stich, reading, and watching the Atlanta Braves. Very seldom from the introduction of Revlon products in 1932 until this her 94th year was 'Rooney' ever without her Revlon Red nails. We hope the angels have stocked up.The visitation will be held at The McDougald Funeral Home, 2211 North Main Street, Anderson, SC, on Friday evening, January 29, 2010, from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at the Fair Play Presbyterian Church, Hwy 243, Fair Play, SC, on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at. The Reverend Debbie Foster and the Reverend Nancy Blakely will officiate. A private family burial will take place at the family plot in the historic Beech Branch Baptist Church Cemetery in Luray, SC.
