Lin Cox, age 85, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at North Pointe Assisted Living.

Born June 3, 1939, in Laurens, SC, he was a son of the late Alfred Broadus Cox and Willie Mae Walls Cox. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Joyce Todd Cox; brothers, Winford Cox and Larry Cox; and sister, Sarah Timms.

Lin was employed with BASF for 25 years retiring as a plant supervisor. He enjoyed gardening, singing, and going to yard sales. Most of all Lin loved his family and when his wife was still with him, he enjoyed doing whatever she wanted to do. He was a member of Giving Hope Fellowship. Lin will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.

He is survived by his sons, Tony Cox (Regina) and Tod Cox (Amy) both of Anderson; brother, Gerald Cox (Joyce) of Anderson; grandchildren, Megan Latham (Robert), Brady Cox, Bryson Cox, Caroline Cox, Josh Bass, and Katherine Bass; and great grandchildren, Carson, Easton, and Chevy.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Lin's sister-in-law, Jean Sonefelt for her special friendship and care.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 11:00 am until 12:45 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm in the Chapel with Pastor Mari Gonlag officiating. Burial will follow at Giving Hope Fellowship Cemetery.
