Linda Cooke Alexander, age 83, of Fountain Inn, SC, formerly of Townville, SC, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025.
Born August 13, 1941, in Mooresville, NC, she was a daughter of the late Marvin and Una Odessa Cooke. She was married for 52 years to James "Jim" Benjamin Alexander until his death in 2017. She was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church.
Linda attended Central Wesleyan College and began her working career at Appalachian Hall in Asheville, NC. She then worked for North Hills Medical Center and retired as the administrative assistant to the president of Professional Rehabilitation. She was known for her stylish fashion, her love of people, her strong Christian faith and was a true prayer warrior. She enjoyed helping others and never failed to send out cards for special occasions in the lives of those she loved. One of her favorite things was her lunch outings with friends at the Coach House in Simpsonville. Linda loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and with her beloved dog Gypsy.
She is survived by her son, James Daryl Alexander and his wife Mary; daughter, Jill Alexander Miles; grandchildren, Alexander Joseph Miles, Brittany Michelle Miles and fiancé Preston Willared, and Galen Byrnside; great grandchildren, Samantha Maria Willared-Coss, Ryker James Willared, Harlee Denise Miles, and Ridge Michael Miles; sister, Becky Horne and her husband Halbert; niece and nephew, Heather Knox and Brannon Horne; and close friends, Dan Schmidt, Mark Jalonen, and Nancy Mann.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 11:00 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Randy McAlister officiating. The family will greet guests immediately following the service. Mrs. Alexander's final resting place will be at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery next to her husband.
