Alice Linda Brown, 81, went to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, December 2, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Sam and Essie Mae Chapman. She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Jimmy Leon Brown. Linda worked as the cafeteria supervisor for Anderson County School District 4. She spent her retirement years caring for her family and sharing her gift of baking and home cooking with many of the local businesses in her hometown, countless friends, neighbors and family. Her infectious laugh and warm smile were always on display, and she was a "blessing" to anyone who ever met her. Nothing meant more to her than spending time with her friends and family. Those left to cherish her memory include her two sisters, Nancy and Phyllis Chapman, her two daughters, Vickie Shaw and Michele Barfield (Gregg); two grandchildren, Jamie Guffee and Christopher Shaw; and two great-grandchildren, Mayce Thomason and Gage Thomason. Family and friends may pay their respects and sign the Guest Register on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at 2:00 pm at Union Grove Methodist Church Cemetery. Social distancing will be observed and masks are required.
