Linda Hawkins Gambrell, age 75, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2016 at Rainey Hospice House. Born in Anderson County, SC on October 23, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Buchanan Hawkins. Linda's career included working at True Temper, Scott Manufacturing, and Perry Correctional Institute. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Engelke, Janet Stowe, and Teresa Ferguson; a brother, Ronnie Hawkins; sisters, Jeanette Jones, Mary Ann Allen, and Sandra Bryan; and 30 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two son-in-laws, Stephen Engelke and Randy Tilley; a sister, Ernestine Hammonds; and twin great-grandchildren, Kelby and Jeb Holden. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Monday, July 11, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. with the Rev. Travis Bryan and Dr. Ron Fousek officiating.
