Hanks, passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at the Rainey Hospice House.Born in Anderson, SC, on August 25, 1944, she was a daughter of Leonard Elgin and the late Louise Taylor Elgin. She was a homemaker and was of the Holiness faith.In addition to her father, she is survived by children: Tammy Scarboro of Anderson, Dale Whitfield of Anderson, and Ricky Whitfield of Starr; siblings: Peggy Richards of Easley, Mary Dean, Billy Elgin, Sharon Cross, Carolyn Todd, and Betty Todd, all of Anderson; six grandchildren: Chris Whitfield of Townville, Jody Whitfield and Brandi Scarboro, both of Anderson, Corey Whitfield, Susanna Whitfield, and Emily Whitfield, all of Starr; and five great grandchildren.In addition to her mother, she was predeceased by two brothers: Junior Page and Jimmy Elgin.The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 30, 2010, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, conducted by the Reverend Sam Duncan and the Reverend John Cross. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.The family is at the home of her daughter, Tammy Scarboro, 1207 Westgate Road, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 29, 2010.Flowers are optional.
