Obituary

Linda Jane Rollins Keown, age 77, of Iva, SC, was peacefully reunited with her husband "Big Jim" on Friday, July 8, 2022. She was born March 20, 1945 in Iva, SC and was a daughter of the late James Rollins and Julia McMahan Rollins. She was married to James Burnett Keown for 49 years until his death in 2016. Linda lived a saintly life and loved everyone she met. She loved to cook and if you have ever been to her home, you left with a full belly of southern food and a heart full of love. She was born and raised in Iva and was proud of it. She didn't like to travel much farther than Anderson. Before becoming a homemaker, she worked at Jackson Mill where she was named "Miss Jackson Mill" in the late 1960s. Linda was full of life and had a fun and innocent sense of humor. But her children knew that innocence didn't mean she wouldn't hesitate to discipline them when needed. Linda was passionate about serving the Lord. She was a faithful member of Trinity Bible Church for many years where she served as church treasurer, played the organ, sang specials, helped with Bible School, and even drove the church bus to pick up others. Later, she had attended Concord Baptist Church and was currently a member of First Baptist Church of Iva and volunteered with Iva Senior Adult Activities. Linda adored her family and they adored her. She will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her. Those left to cherish her memory are children, Darla Powell (Wiley), Stephen Keown (Laura), and Tim Keown (Kelley); brother, Jerry Rollins; sister, Roxie Moore; grandchildren, Joshua W. Powell, Kayla Hanks (Travis), Stephanie Hanks (Stephen), Danielle Keown, Ellory Keown, Channing Spencer, Kayla Foster, Cameron Foster, Kale Brock, Kade Brock, and Kathryn Keown; and great grandchildren, Powell Hanks, Barrett Hanks, Bryant Hanks, Blakelee Hanks, Addisyn Hanks, and soon to be expected Dawson Hanks. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Tony Rollins and Jimmie McMahan. The family would like to specifically thank the staff at Hospice of the Upstate and Upstate Palliative Care for the wonderful love and care provided to Linda during her last days. The family will receive friends Monday, July 11, 2022, from 4:00-6:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Iva. The funeral service will begin at 6:00 pm with Rev. Tom Smith and Rev. Jerry Gray officiating. Burial will be at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 2:00 pm. Flowers are optional and memorial contributions may be made to SC Governor's School for Agriculture Foundation, 192 Gettys Rd., McCormick, SC 29835 and Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621.
