Linda Marie Livernois (Heuman), 79, of Anderson, South Carolina, passed away on July 4, 2026, with her loving family by her side after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
She was born to Conrad Heuman and Elizabeth Anne (Flocke) on May 28, 1947, in White Plains, New York. Linda spent much of her youth living abroad with her family across Europe and came back to the Midwest to attend The University of Michigan (Go Blue!) and receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from the School of Dentistry in 1969. She was also a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. While attending college, she met the love of her life Melbourne James Livernois, DDS and the two went on to build a successful dental practice in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for over 35 years; although being mother to their two children, Christine and Melissa was her most beloved role.
The two retired to Cullowhee, North Carolina and created their dream escape where family and friends visited often and were treated to the most incredible mountain getaway that left guests in awe and checking their calendars for their next visit. In 2025 the two traded mountain life for lake life and moved to Anderson, South Carolina. In May, "Mel" and Linda celebrated 56 years of marriage.
Linda was kind, welcoming, faithful and creative. She had a gift for making people feel loved and so often that love came through her kitchen or sewing projects. She taught those around her that kindness was never wasted and that there was always room for one more at the dinner table. Every thoughtful detail Linda crafted reflected her incredible hospitality and joy in caring for others. Being a wife, mother and grandmother known to her grandchildren as "Omi" brought her the greatest joy. Childhood adventures in Europe instilled an independent spirit and broad perspective on life which she encouraged with her own children and grandchildren. Linda's generosity, unwavering faith, infectious smile and joyful spirit will continue to inspire everyone fortunate enough to be blessed by her.
Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void in our lives, her love lives on in every story shared, every tradition continued, and every life she touched.
Linda is survived by her loving husband Melbourne J. Livernois, DDS; daughters Christine Mason (Dustin) and Melissa Looney (Dennis "Cal"); grandchildren Christopher "Topher", Tanner, Betty Anne, Evans and Kathryn "Ryn"; sisters Beth Johns (Brian) and Judy Banyai (Jim). Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Conrad and Elizabeth Heuman.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church of Clemson, 397 College Avenue Clemson, SC. The service will be live streamed via First Baptist Church of Clemson's YouTube Channel.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish, may donate in Linda's memory to the First Baptist Church of Clemson or Hospice of the Foothills. Thank you for remembering them with your kindness.
