Linda Faye Smith Whitman, 73, of Honea Path, SC, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born January 28, 1947 in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Gordon Smith and Marjorie Yeargin Smith. Linda is survived by her children, Scott Posey (LuCindy) of Anderson, SC, Michelle Arterburn (Dale) of Greer, SC, and Kelli Gossett (Michael) of Belton, SC; brothers, Billy and Emery Smith of Anderson, SC; sisters, Arlene Tilley of Starr, SC and Louise Ford of Anderson, SC; and grandchildren, Chelsie Whitman, Olivia Gossett, Camden Arterburn, and Morgan Arterburn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Raymond Anthony Posey; brother, Billy Ray Smith; and sister, Nina Roof, and Sue Hill. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 18, 2020 from 2:00-4:00 pm The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home.
