LITHA COX April 1, 1935 - January 19, 2009PELZER, SCMrs. Litha Mae Durant Cox, age 73, of 104 Colonial Drive, Pelzer, SC, wife of Douglas McDonald Cox, died Monday, January 19, 2009, at AnMed Health Medical Center.Born in Aynor, SC, on April 1, 1935 she was a daughter of the late Joseph Durant and Minnie Bell Durant. She graduated from Conway High School and worked with her husband as an accountant in the family business, The Cox Company of Pelzer. She and her husband had a Camp Ground Ministry at Cullasaja River Camp Ground, Franklin, NC, which they had been involved in for the past thirteen years.She is survived by her husband, Douglas; daughter, Janet Simmons and her husband Terry, Williamston, SC, and son Terry Austin Cox and his wife Bobbie, Fairbanks, Alaska, nine grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Alton, Paul and Herman Durant and one sister, Sallie D. Bourne.The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2009, at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverends J. Harold Sanders and David Gallamore. Entombment will follow at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, January 24, 2009, from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm.Flowers are optional.
