Thompson, age 94, passed away on Monday, June 7, 2010.Born in Starr, SC, on November 8, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Wilson Reeves Chamblee and Minnie Bond Chamblee. Mrs. Thompson attended Winthrop College and was a member of Starr United Methodist Church.Survivors include her son, Swain Norris Thompson, Jr., and wife, Betty Jo Nalley Thompson; son-in-law, Gary Craft; sisters: Jean C. Blackwell & Betty C. Rogers; brother, Dwain 'Whit' Chamblee; four grandsons: Robert Livingston Craft, Thomas Denver Craft, Swain Norris Thompson, III, and the Honorable Michael Dwain Thompson; and five great grandchildren.She was predeceased by her daughters, Barbara Thompson Craft and Beverly Louise Thompson; and her siblings: Reba C. Geer, William Chamblee, Reeves Chamblee, Jr., Jess Chamblee, and Robert L. Chamblee, PhD.The Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Dr. L. Thomas Richie officiating.
