Logan Fred Cantrell, age 85, resident of 101 Seven Oaks Drive, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at his home surrounded by family.Born February 9, 1926, in Ware Shoals, he was a son of the late Logan Fred Cantrell Sr. and Tannie Moats Cantrell. Mr. Cantrell retired from the textiles industry after forty-two years of service and was later employed by BiLo Store 626. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and was a charter member of John Wesley United Methodist Church.Survivors include his beloved wife of sixty-two years, Doris Parham Cantrell, of the home; children: Martha Haley (Mercer Burns) of Pendleton, SC, Billy F. Cantrell (Myra King Cantrell) of Anderson, SC, and Jackie Dean (Curtis Dean) of Raleigh, NC; seven grandchildren: Jeff & Ben Haley, Renee' Burton, Daniel, Dustin, & Kenneth Cantrell, and Anna Dean; great grandchildren: Taylor Burton, Kameron & Karson Haley, Bryson & Britt Cantrell, and Isabella 'Bella' Baessler; and a sister, Louise C. Craft, of Anderson, SC. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings: Eula Mae, Troy, L.J., Lester, Dillard, & Okie Cantrell.The Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 pm on Thursday, January 12, 2012, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend Kurt Stutler. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.The family is at the home and will receive friends at the funeral home from 11am until 12noon, prior to the service.
