Lois Jackson Brooks, age 88, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2014, at her residence. Born in Cobbtown, GA, she was the daughter of the late J. W. Jackson, Sr. and the late Lois Hendry Jackson. She was a 1946 graduate of The University of Georgia and worked as a Medical Technologist at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, GA. She became a devoted wife and mother, and later grandmother and used her ample organization skills in the League of Women Voters, and other community service organizations. Most recently she has been active with Hospice of the Upstate, Boy Scouts of America, The Stephens Ministry at St. John's United Methodist Church, and for the past year, President of the United Methodist Women. She is survived by her second husband, Eugene J. Masini; a son, Kenneth Morgan Brooks, Jr. and his wife, Megan R. Brooks, of Weston, CT; a daughter, Lois Stitt and her husband Robert, of Richmond Hill, GA; two step-sons, Douglas Masini and his wife Shirley, David Leonard Masini and his wife Lynn; three step-daughters, Dawn M. Harbin, Donna M. Griffith and Dianne N. Masini; a sister, Eleanor Jackson Cooper, of Braselton, GA; six grandchildren, Kenneth III, Matthew, Megan, Caitlin, Craig, and Matthew. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Morgan Brooks, Sr.; a stepson, Donald Masini; a brother, John W. Jackson, Jr.; and a sister, Mary Jackson "Nickie" Bleckley. The Memorial Service will be held at St. John's United Methodist Church on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. with Reverend Dan Batson and Reverend Dr. Bill Childs officiating. The family will receive friends in the church parlor following the service.
