Lois Timms Lowie, age 92, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, August 04, 2015, upon her death at Fellowship Health and Rehab. Born on February 7, 1923, in Gaffney, SC, she was the daughter of the late Marion Thomas Timms and the late Bessie Landers Timms. For many years she was the wife of the late John Thomas Lowie until his death. Mrs. Lowie was a member of Freedom Center, formerly First Assembly of God, for over fifty years. Survivors include her sister, Martha Tillman and her husband, Billy, of Starr; and her special friend and caregiver, Sheila Roberts. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Lowie was preceded in death by brothers, William, Ralph, James, and Marshall Timms, as well as three brothers who died in infancy, Clarence, Edward and Thomas Timms; and sisters Sarah Boles, Estelle Eaton, and Mary Callaham. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the Freedom Center, with Pastor Phil Sears officiating. Interment will follow at the Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Iva. The family will receive friends at Freedom Center on Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Lowie may be made to the Freedom Center, 3235 D.L.
