Lollis David Tilley Anderson, SC Lollis David Tilley, age 73, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at his residence. Born on August 27, 1940 in Anderson, SC, he was the first of nine born to the late Lollis D. and Dorotha (Dot) Tilley of Anderson. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1956 -1957. He was a skilled carpenter and worked in construction for most of his life. David was a talented vocalist and musician. He was also a lover of many things, some of these include, The Atlanta Braves, Nascar, gardening and animals. He was very patriotic. David was of the Baptist faith and attended Freedom Baptist Ministries. He is survived by his children, William David Tilley and his wife Valerie, of Anderson, Reverend Anthony Ray Tilley and his wife Jo Beth, of Anderson, SC, Andrew Kevin Keaton, of Starr, SC, and Cynthia Darlene Gillespie and her husband Mark, of Anderson, SC; a brother, Jimmy Dale Tilley and his wife Arlene, of Starr, SC; three sisters, Becky Scoggins, and her husband Curtis, of Anderson, SC, Sharon Loskoski, and her husband Milton, of Starr, SC and Carol Laire and her husband Dave, of Anderson, SC; and 14 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Grady, Randy and Terry Wayne Tilley; and one sister, Margaret Jean Tilley. The funeral service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Albert Strickland officiating. Interment will follow at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
