Ownbey, died Tuesday, August 01, 2006 at Ellenburg Nursing Center in Anderson.Born in Abbeville County, SC on June 16, 1915, Mrs. Ownbey was a daughter of the late Robert Lee Burdette and Sally Prince Burdette. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church.Survivors include sons, Robert L. Ownbey, Jr., of Mount Bethel Community and Bud Edward Ownbey of Anderson; sister, Rosella Price of Augusta, GA; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers; Clifton Burdette and Clarence 'Bill' Burdette; sisters, Ola Shaw, Janie Thomas, Onie Shaw Hart, Mary Green and Ethel Burdette. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2006 at 3:30 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Sam Duncan. Nephews will service as pallbearers.
