Lorena Alma Harris, age 91, of Starr, SC, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at her home.

Born September 16, 1933, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Marion McFadden Harris and Velma Esther Adams Harris Roach. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Whitfield; a son, Marshall Whitfield; a daughter, Jean Fowler (James); a brother, Bobby Harris; sisters, Nadine Edens and Elta McGee.

Lorena was affectionately known as "Grandma" to everyone. She was very kind and had a gentle soul. She was a very generous person and would help anyone in need.

She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Maquata Whitfield (Marshall); brothers, Evert Harris, Charles Harris and Fred Harris; sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" Gilbert, Emily Eller, Esther Harris Roach and Annie Harris; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 6:00 – 9:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
