Lorene Branyon Dean Thrasher, age 93, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025, at The Rainey Hospice House, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on February 26, 1932, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late JP and Birdie Branyon. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Wilton Clifton Dean and second husband, Eugene Thrasher; brothers Ernest, Ralph, Emory, and Max Branyon and sister, Evelyn Oliver.
Lorene lived a life full of faith, love, and laughter. She worked in production at the Singer plant in Anderson, SC and was a devoted pastor's wife. A devout Christian and true woman of faith, Lorene poured her heart into serving God and others. She was known for her spirited personality and unwavering determination. She found great joy in dancing, from lively square dances to the graceful rhythms of the ballroom. Lorene loved being adventurous and having fun. She will be missed deeply by all those blessed enough to know her.
She is survived by her son, Randy and his wife, Von Dean; her daughter, Beckie and her husband, Stan Steele. Her grandchildren are Melissa Fleming of Virginia, Sherry and Bradford Hughes of Liberty, Derrick and Rachel Dunn of Georgia, Amanda Dean of Anderson, Matthew and Sharon Dean of Anderson and Michaela and Tyler Williams of Pendleton. She has 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Judy Brown.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 11:00am to 12:15pm at The McDougald Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 12:30pm at The McDougald Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Branyon and Dr. Charles Holland officiating. There will be a private burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
In addition to flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Rainey Hospice House, 1835 Rogers Rd, Anderson, SC 29621.
