Loretta Ann Rhodes, age 87, of Anderson, SC, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Rainey Hospice House.
Born September 15, 1936, in Sandy Springs, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Murray Rhodes and Kate Moore Rhodes. She was also preceded in death by her son, Gordy Roland; and sister, Helen Campbell.
Loretta was a talented saleswoman working for Manpower and selling real estate before finishing her career as a sales associate with JCPenny. You could often find her driving around Anderson in her white convertible. She loved to shag, was a member of the Shag Club, and loved meeting her friends at Tuckers. Loretta also loved pink especially for her lipstick and nail polish. But what she loved the most was her family, and she held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Kim Cartee (Jack) of Pendleton, Melody Richey (Tony) of Anderson, and Deborah Jones (Jimmy) of Greenville; brothers, Dan Rhodes (Laura) of Anderson and Jerry Rhodes (Kathy) of Clemson; grandchildren, Michelle LeTourneau, Katie Curran (Braden), Anthony Richey (Brittany), Jenna Maclennan (Perry), and Jodi Jones (J); great grandchildren, Trinity Lomax, Bishop LeTourneau, Emerson Curran, Hogan Richey, Hamilton Curran, Amelia Richey, Lucile Maclennan, and Pierce Maclennan; and great-great grandchild, Emery Burriss.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 26, 2024, from 10:00-10:45 am at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am in the Chapel with Rev. Mark Daniel officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Home for Children, 110 Calvary Home Circle, Anderson, SC 29621.
The family will be at the home of Melody and Tony Richey, 110 Old Village Dr., Anderson, SC 29621.
