Mary Loretta Roach, age 77, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, August 1, 2017. She entered this world on January 1, 1940, and was the first baby born in Anderson County that year. She was the daughter of the late George W. Roach and the late Ovie Atkinson Roach. Loretta was a faithful member of Garner Memorial Baptist Church over sixty years. Loretta is survived by three brothers, Charles R. Roach of Townville, John M. Roach of Anderson and James T. Roach of Anderson; and three sisters, Jimmie Crocker, Altha Jo Roach, and Marion S. Roach, all of Anderson. The funeral service to celebrate and honor the life of Loretta Roach will be held on Friday, August 4, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend James Strickland and Reverend Dale Dyar officiating. Interment will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, August 3, 2017, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Flowers are accepted, however contributions in memory of Loretta may be made to the charity of one's choice.
