She was the daughter of Earle McGee Rice and the late Mary Louise Anderson Rice, and the granddaughter of the late Leon Leftwich and Sara Wilhite Rice, and the late Dr. Jesse T. and Hazel Prickett Anderson.A seventh-generation Andersonian, she attended Queens College (now University) in Charlotte, North Carolina, and graduated with honor from Clemson University, and the University of South Carolina School of Law, where she was Managing Editor of The Journal of Law & Education. She joined her father in the practice of law in 1981 in the same firm established by her grandfather, Leon L. Rice, in 1907, and joined by her father in 1947. She was a member of the Anderson County Bar Association and the South Carolina Bar Association, and a charter member of the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association. She was also a communicant of Grace Episcopal Church.Survivors include her beloved son, Rice Jensen 'Jens' Lund, of the home; her father and stepmother, Mr. & Mrs. Earle M. Rice, of Anderson; sister, Mary Earle Haynes, of Atlanta, Georgia, and brother, Jesse Anderson 'Andy' Rice, of Roswell, Georgia; step brothers, Zach Watson Rice, of New York, New York, and Charles Jackson Rice, of Central, South Carolina, and half-sister, Elizabeth Rice English, of Kennesaw, Georgia.The family will receive friends in the Parlor of Grace Episcopal Church from 11am until 12 noon on Saturday, January 29, 2011. The Funeral Service will follow at 12noon at Grace Episcopal Church and will be conducted by The Reverend John B. Hardaway, IV, and The Reverend Thomas C. Davis.
