Obituary

Retired Lt. Col. Charles T. Lehman died peacefully Sunday, March 13, 2016, surrounded by his family. Charles was born in Indian Mound, Tennessee. He was inspired by a pilot in his hometown and dreamed of becoming an Air Force pilot. He served in the Air Force for 22 years, where he was involved in the Berlin Airlift and commanded the vice president's plane, Air Force Two. After retiring from the Air Force, he was a corporate pilot until his retirement. Charles accumulated 33,000 hours of flying time in his career. He was a member of Kiwanis and loved playing bridge, fishing and walking his dogs, which were very special to him. Charles was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. Charles and Audrey were married for 60 years and were an inspiration to all who knew them. He was preceded in death by his wife Audrey, and one son, Jon Lehman. He is survived by Tom (Sandy), Michael (Barbara), Ginger (Ron), Luann (Gary), Steven (Alicia) and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
