Lucille Frances Barrett McCurley, age 87, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2015, at National Health Center of Anderson, SC. Born in Habersham, GA on March 21, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Cale J. Barrett and the late Lillian M. Peyton Barrett. She retired after many years of service in the textile industry with Equinox Mill. She was a lifelong member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church. Lucille sincerely loved the Mountain Creek community. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Barrett McGuffin, of Anderson, SC; niece, Debbie McGuffin, of Anderson, SC along with other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John H. McCurley Jr.; brothers; James, John, Woodrow, Bill, Paul and Jesse Lee Barrett; sisters, Ida Mae Beasley, Helen Stewart, and Gladys Routh Barrett. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at 3:30 p.m. officiated by the Rev. Ray Thompson, Dr. Tony Smith and Rev. Charles Allen. Interment will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery. The family will be at the home of her sister, Dorothy McGuffin, 612 Palmer St., Anderson, SC, and will receive friends at the funeral home, on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted.
