Our loving mother and grandmother, Lucille Marie Pekarik, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the age of 88.

Born on Mother's Day, May 9, 1936, in Cleveland OH, she spent most of her early years on the farm with her grandmother, Fannie. At 21, she married the love of her life, Jim. This began nearly 65 years of wedded bliss, and they took great joy in raising their children.

Lucy is survived by her daughters, Deborah Dusek (Thomas) of Tallahassee, FL, Coleen Estanek of Anderson, SC, and son, Thomas Pekarik (Vicki) of Rockwall, TX as well as 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James; two daughters, Theresa and Amy Pekarik; and son-in-law, Robert Estanek.

Lucy was an accomplished seamstress, and she earned a living by making beautiful wedding and bridesmaid dresses along with countless alterations. Aside from sewing, she loved crocheting, gardening, and helping Jim with many home improvements.

Lucy had an infectious smile and loved her family. She loved to make other people happy. Faith was a priority for her, and she shared her love of God by her love and care for all of those around her. She seemed to always focus on positivity rather than her problems, but she always had time to listen to and provide counsel for friends and family.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 11:00 am at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church with Father Jairo Calderon as celebrant. Interment will be at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 pm.
