Lucille Swaney Pendleton, SC Lucille Merck Swaney, age 95, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 2, 2015. Born in Elbert County, GA, on February 28, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Corbett Merck and the late Dolly Dickerson Merck. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and was affectionately known as "Granny". Lucille was a life-long member of Fant's Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Milton E. Swaney and his wife Mary Jane, of Seneca, SC, Paries Owen and her husband Pete, of Sandy Springs, SC, Ethel Campbell and her husband Paul, of Pendleton, SC, Jessie Swaney, Jr., of Pendleton, SC, and Jane Land and her husband Tyrus, of Pendleton, SC; sisters, Louise and Frances Parker, of Anderson, SC and Bobbie Cothran, of Central, SC; 23 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, 57 great-great grandchildren, and 1 great-great-great granddaughter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Willard Swaney, Sr.; and infant son, Johnny Swaney; a son, Tommy Swaney; three grandchildren; one sister; and four brothers. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. at Fant's Grove Baptist Church with Reverends Bob Castro, Allen Moore, and Mike Foster officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
