LUCINDA PICKENS LOCKWOOD Lucinda Pickens Lockwood, age 80, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2014, at Rainey Hospice House. Cindy ("Nammoe" to her beloved grandchildren) was born in Charlotte, NC, on January 22, 1934, to the late Sarah Wakefield Pickens and Marshall Ivey Pickens. She was married to the late H. Beecher Lockwood, Jr, in 1957. Survivors include her children, Lucinda L. Edwards (Wilson) of Washington, NC, and H. Beecher Lockwood III, of Anderson, SC, her sister, Sarah Pickens Williamson (Worth) of Charlotte, NC, and brother, Marshall Ivey Pickens, Jr. (Bitsy) of Anderson, SC; her grandsons, J. Hardy Andrews, H. B. Lockwood, IV, James B. Andrews, John Wootten Lockwood, Daniel P. Lockwood and Thomas W. Edwards, Jr., as well as many much loved nieces and nephews. Cindy graduated from St. Anne's School in Charlottesville, VA, and attended Duke University and Queens College. During her 23 year marriage to Beech, she enjoyed living in Pittsburgh, PA; Orinda, CA; Liege, Belgium; and moved back to Charlotte after his death. She moved to Anderson in 1999. Cindy is a member of the Junior League of Charlotte and a former member of the Junior League of Oakland, CA. She is a member of Discover Anderson, the Quest Book Club, Our Garden Club, Club 24 and the Senior Assembly of Anderson. During her years in Charlotte, she was employed by Carolinas Medical Center as a patient representative in the Emergency Department. A graveside memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 2609 US 29, Anderson, SC, with Chaplain Mike Johnson officiating.
