Luree Elrod Piedmont, SC Mrs. Carrie Luree Stanley Elrod, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at Hosanna Health and Rehab of Piedmont, after several years of declining health. Born in Warrenton, GA, on March 6, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Stanley and the late Carrie Guy Stanley. She worked the polls and volunteered for many years at Beth Eden Nursing Home in Greenville. Luree was a member of West Gant Baptist Church. She was a loving wife to Wade Hampton Elrod, whom she devoted her life to for 70 years, married on August 13, 1944. She was a loving mother, to her daughter, Maggie Pearl Elrod, of Williamston, SC; she also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, neighbors and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bud Stanley; and three sisters, Sarah Dyches Crawford, Janie Belle Carr Jenkins and Sue Mock Hale. The Graveside Service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Dale Hart officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery, prior to the service, on Friday, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to Friendship Baptist Church, 5600 Highway 81 North, Williamston, SC 29697.
