Mayfield, Jr., passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2010, at the Rainey Hospice House.Born November 23, 1936, in Anderson, SC, she was a daughter of the late Charles Stark Sullivan and Coy Meeks Sullivan. Mrs. Mayfield graduated from Anderson Girl's High School, Duke University, and Clemson University. After thirty years of service as an Educator, she retired from Anderson School District V. She was a member of the Junior Assembly, Revelers Club, the Thalian Cotillion Club, a Friend of the Anderson Library, served as Secretary of the Anderson County Democratic Party. Additionally, Mrs. Mayfield was a faithful member of Central Presbyterian Church, where she formerly served in many capacities including Sunday School Teacher, Clerk of the Session, Choir member, Deacon, and Elder.In addition to her husband of fifty-one years, she is survived by four children: Walter Alexander Mayfield and wife, Charlene, of Anderson, SC, Charles Sullivan Mayfield and wife, Shea, of Greenville, SC, Elizabeth Mayfield Bowen and husband, Chris, of Anderson, and Ann Mayfield Jaskwhich and husband, Michael, of Richmond, VA; a sister, Emily Coy 'Mimi' Greenberger and husband, Steve, of Beaufort, SC; and five grandchildren: Charles Sullivan Mayfield, Jr., Rebekah Eugie Mayfield, Torrence Goldston Mayfield, John Daniel Bowen, and Catherine Douglas Jaskwhich.Mrs. Mayfield was predeceased by a grandson, Edward Ellis Mayfield.The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 29, 2010, at Central Presbyterian Church conducted by Dr. David J. Bailey. Burial will follow in Old Silver Brook Cemetery.
