Lyle Van Wie Anderson, SC Lyle H. Van Wie, age 81, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2015, at his residence. Born in Canisteo, NY, he was the son of the late Bert Van Wie and the late Martha Whiting Van Wie. Lyle attended Juilliard and received a Master's in Music Education from Columbia University. He was a strings teacher for Charleston County Public School System, retiring in 2013. He also spent 17 years in Bermuda teaching music. He is survived by his loving wife, Carl Ann Lightfoot Van Wie; children, Elizabeth H. Team, Deborah Hammond, Amy H. Kinard and her husband Neal, and Walter S. Hammond; and five grandchildren, Abigail Team, Adam Team and his wife Kristina, Morgan Team, Madeline Kinard and Turner Kinard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Van Wie Landsittel; and his brothers, Harold and Gerald Van Wie. The Funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Revernd Damien Hutchins officiating.
