Mabeth I. Schuler October 21, 1921 - May 22, 2012 ANDERSON, SC Mabeth I. Hurst Grant Schuler, age 90 passed away on May 22, 2012 at Countryside Village, Easley, SC. Born in London, KY, Mabeth was a daughter of the late Terrel Hurst and Emma Z. Hodges Hurst. Graduating from Brownsville High School in Indiana, Mabeth worked in retail most of her career. She also worked at Whitewater State Park in both the office and the concession stand. Mabeth was very active in the Democrat Party of Indiana for over 35 years where she served in Union County, the 10th District, and the Democrat Central Committee. She is survived by her children, Phyllis A. Beever of Anderson, SC and George Edwin Grant of New Castle, IN; her four loving grandchildren, Jim, Beth, Jason and Matt; two great-grandchildren, Natalie and Joey; brothers, Leighton Hurst of San Diego, CA, James Robert Hurst of Crystal River, FL, and William Earl Hurst of Connersville, IN. Mabeth was preceded in death by her first husband, George J. Grant, second husband, Howard M. Schuler and a sister, Vivian Webb. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
