Mable Hardy Gibson, 89, loving wife of the late Dennis Austin Gibson, went to her Heavenly Home on Monday, May 14, 2018, at Manna Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. Born in Anderson Co., SC, on February 24, 1929, Mable was the daughter of the late Grayson and Bessie Elizabeth Brooks Hardy. Mable worked for Equinox Mill where she retired after 42 years of service. She was an active member of Faith Fellowship Baptist Church participating in the church choir and solos. Mable was a faithful loving Mother, Wife, and Christian who will be truly missed. Mable is survived by her daughters, Margaret M. Pruitt (Ray) of Easley, and Vickie M. Rumsey (Richard) of Anderson; brother, Gene Hardy of Easley; sister, Mildred Turpin of Anderson; Mable was known as MeeMaw by her five grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband Dennis, Mable was preceded in death by three brothers; two sisters; and her first husband, Joe A. Moore. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, May 17, 2018, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. The funeral service will begin on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Dr. Ken Pruitt and Rev. Brian Jennings officiating. Interment will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted.
