Macie Carolyn Kilgore, 89, of Starr, SC, passed away, Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at her home. Born May 13, 1931, in Toccoa, GA, she was the daughter of the late Henry Mize and Annie May Powers Mize. She was married to Lawrence Kilgore until his death in 1978. Macie enjoyed a long career at Owens Corning Fiberglas working in their credit union until her retirement. She then worked in the credit union at Anderson Memorial Hospital until retirement and finally worked as a greeter at Walmart. Macie was a selfless person who loved taking care of her grandchildren and family. In her spare time, she enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens. Macie was a life-long member of Good Hope Baptist Church. She is survived by her three grandchildren, Jason, Joe and Craig Kilgore; great-grandchildren, Chase, Jadon and Emily; and great-great grandchild, Millie. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Cedric Kilgore and all of her brothers and sisters. Friends and family may pay their respects and sign the Guest Register on Thursday, January 14, 2021 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. A private burial will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
