MACK HAYES June 25, 1928 - June 28, 2006IVA, SCMr. Mack Watson Hayes, Jr., age 78, husband of Clara Hatcher Hayes of 401 Charles Beaty Road, Iva, SC, died Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at his residence.Born in Anderson County, SC on June 25, 1928, Mr. Hayes was a son of the late Mack Watson Hayes and Mary Essie Hayes Hayes. He was retired from BASF after twenty-two years of service and was a lifetime farmer. He served in the United States Army. Survivors include his wife, Clara Hatcher Hayes of the home; son, Tommy Hayes and his wife, Vera of Iva, SC; daughter, Arleane Gales and her husband, Stephen, of Iva, SC; brother, Lloyd Hayes of Anderson, SC; four grandchildren, Sandy Hayes and his wife, Meredith of Iva, SC, Dustin Hayes of Greenville, SC, Watson Hayes of Iva, SC and Rankin Chapman of Rock Hill, SC and one great-granddaughter, Kristen Hayes. Several nieces and nephews also survive.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Wade, J. B., and James Hayes and a sister, Thethel Brooks. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, June 30, 2006 at 10:00 am at Hayes Family Cemetery, 401 Charles Beaty Road, Iva, SC (on the property of the family farm.) Officiating will be Mr. Jerry Chapman. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, June 29, 2006 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.The family will be at the residence.
