Born in Trenton, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Stephen Mikita and Mary Notta Mikita.She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Anderson, SC, where she was active in the Women's Club, while her health permitted. Before moving to Anderson, she was active at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church and the Rosary Altar Society in Mercerville, NJ. During war times, she was employed at L.A. Youngs, involved with wartime production. Afterwards, she worked at Bayer Aspirin in Trenton, NJ. Madaline spent many years as a cafeteria worker, serving at Notre Dame High School and Princeton High School. Survivors include her son, Ron Cartlidge and his wife, Beth of Anderson, SC; four grandchildren, Christina Cross (Kevin) of Grovetown, GA, Laura Larson (Brad) of Newton Highlands, MA, Richard Cartlidge (Carrie) of Pelzer, SC, Rebecca Manning (Josh) of Easley; four great-grandchildren, Andrew, Carolyn, and Benjamin Cross, Jackson Cartlidge, and Baby Manning due in June; sister, Helen Wirpsza of Ocean City, NJ. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Mary Miller, Ann Slatino, Margaret Stankowski, John Mikita and Stephen Mikita. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11AM on Monday, February 1, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church conducted by Father Hayden J. Vaverek. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial ParkThe family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Sunday, January 31, 2010 from 6-7:30pm with the Vigil Service to begin at 7:30pm.
