Obituary

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our “Precious” baby, Madeline Mae Johnson on Thursday, July 2, 2026.

Maddie Mae was born on October 29, 2025. Though our time with Maddie Mae was brief, spanning just 8 beautiful months, she brought an immeasurable amount of love and joy to our family that will last a lifetime.

Maddie Mae had the sweetest smile, the most beautiful blue eyes and she brought happiness and smiles to everyone around her. Though she faced many health battles, Maddie was a true fighter and found comfort in being sung to. When she peacefully passed from this life, she crossed into Heaven being sung to – the same loving melodies that had comforted her here on Earth gently carried her into the arms of Jesus. We take comfort in believing that as our songs faded, Heaven’s chorus welcomed her home.

She will be forever cherished and remembered by her parents, Ryan and Laura Johnson, and by her big sister, Charlotte. She is also deeply loved by her grandparents, Mark and Tricia Quarterman and Jay and Sheri Johnson, as well as her great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Ryan Johnson, Mark Quarterman, Jay Johnson, Mark Quarterman Jr., and Evan Wilson will be serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on July 9, 2026, from 1:30-3 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 3:30pm in The McDougald Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. William (Bill) Quarterman officiating. Burial will follow in the Quarterman Family Cemetery.
