Madison Terry Temples, age 78, of Anderson, SC, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at his home.

Born August 22, 1945, in Anderson, he was the son of the late Madison Jenkins Temples and Willene Powell. He was also preceded in death by his life-long friend, Bobby J. McCurley.

Terry was a Center Manager for United Parcel Service retiring after 28 years with the company. He was a hard worker and talented handyman who could fix just about anything. He enjoyed working in his yard and building things but especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Terry was known for his fun-loving personality, his sense of humor and his ability to make everyone laugh. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Gail English Temples; children, Sandy Nodine and husband Barry of Anderson, Madison T. Temples, Jr. and wife Dena of Anderson, and Andrea Ruggles and husband Chris of Starr; sister, Gale Dunagin and husband Harold of Simpsonville; special first cousin, Ken Gunnels; grandchildren, Justin Fulghum, Madison Temples and wife Ashley, Christopher Ruggles and wife Kaitlynn, Thomas Ruggles, and Katherine Ruggles; step-grandchild, Heath Nodine and wife Christy; great grandchildren, Charlotte Ruggles and Madison Temples; and step-great grandchildren, Claire Nodine and Hannah Nodine.

The funeral service will be held Friday, December 29, 2023, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Duncan and Pastor Bill Jordan officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 12:30 pm.
