Carrie Mae Bell Gilmer Davis, age 93, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at Ellenburg Nursing Center. Born in Anderson, SC on April 28, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Walter Carl and Lillie Gilmer. She was a member of the Salvation Army Church and was a local officer as Record Sargent and of the Salvation Army Home League, where she served as secretary. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant and was retired from Ellenburg Nursing Center. She is survived by several cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Carl Gilmer, Jr. and Charlie L. Gilmer; and one sister, Lillie Gilmer. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday, August 16, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service following at 11:30 a.m. in the Chapel with Captain Jason Hughes officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
