MAE BELLE CARTER GAINES April 25, 1924 - April 25, 2008ANDERSON, SCMrs. Mae Belle Carter Gaines, 84 of 215 W. Roosevelt Drive, wife of the late Reverend Donolee Gaines died Friday, April 25, 2008 at the AnMed Health Medical Center.Born in Habersham County, GA on April 25, 1924, Mrs. Gaines was a daughter of the late James Newton 'Newt Carter and Cammie Mae Belle McAlister Carter. She was a former employee of Scott Company and a member of Unity Pentecostal Fire-Baptized Holiness Church. She was also a homemaker.Survivors include her son, Mike Gaines and his wife, Pat; daughters, Sue Vickery and her husband, Gary and Ronda Coble and her husband, Delton all of Anderson; sister, Lola Carver of Iva; ten grandchildren, Tim Vickery, Robbie Vickery, Kim Rice, Wayne Gaines, Dale Gaines, Jason Gaines, April Wardlaw, Michelle Coble, Angie Madden and Mandy Jones. Eighteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren also survive.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Roger Dale Gaines; brothers, J. C. Carter, O. B. Carter and L. R. Carter and three sisters, Lillie Myers, Eloise McClain and Daisy Prince.The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 28, 2008 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverends Catherine Lee, Terry Baker, James Patterson and Charles Lee. Interment will follow in New Silverbrook Cemetery in Anderson.
