MAE PEPPER January 2, 1930 - July 17, 2012 ANDERSON, SC Mae Burton Conner Pepper, of Anderson, wife of the late, Raymond Pepper, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at her home. Born in Marietta, SC she was the daughter of the late William Ernest Burton and the late Martha Leona Buchanan Burton. Mae was a graduate of Marietta High School. Before coming to Anderson, she lived in San Diego for many years and worked at General Dynamics. She was an avid collector of many things, including clocks, angels and glassware. She was a member of West Anderson Church of God. Mrs. Pepper is survived by her sons, Edward "Ed" Conner and his wife Diana of the home; three step-children Dale Pepper and his wife Mary, Ronald Pepper all of Parkersburg, WV and Cinda Hoye of Spencer, WV; brothers, Bruce Burton of Easley, SC, Milton Burton and his wife Judith of Burnsville, MS, Cleve Burton and his wife Janice of Greenville, SC, Reverend Bennie Burton and his wife Elaine of Langley, SC, Michael Burton of Washington, DC and Ricky Burton of Hilton Head, SC; a sister, Mildred Lane and her husband Mack of Easley, SC; a grandchild, Steve Conner, his wife Jennifer and their son Steven of San Diego, CA; five step grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, James "Bud", William, Jerry and Wallace Burton; and a sister, Patricia G. Brown. The Funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Pepper will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 3:00 PM at West Anderson Church of God, with Reverend Mark Daniel, Reverend John Daniel and Reverend Bennie Burton officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Mrs. Pepper will be placed in the church at 2:00 PM on Saturday. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Friday, July 20, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
