Malinda J. Holroyd, age 98, of Clemson, SC, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the Cottingham Hospice House.

Born May 30, 1926, in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of the late Wilmot Tatum Jennings and Marie Epton Jennings. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. William Thomas Holroyd and a brother, Leland H. Jennings.

She earned her master's degree from Winthrop University after earning her undergraduate degrees from Montreat College and Converse College. Mrs. Holroyd had a successful career teaching in Chester and Spartanburg School Districts One and Five. She also taught music at Anderson University and was a member of the Anderson Piano Ensemble.

She is survived by a daughter, Jenni Thompson (Terry) of Greenville, SC; sons, Ross Holroyd (Claudine) of Irmo, SC, Will Holroyd (Carole) of Simpsonville, SC, Philip Holroyd of Liberty, SC, Lee Holroyd (Patti) of Tryon, NC, and John Holroyd (Ruth) of Jackson Springs, NC; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 12:00-1:45 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The memorial service will begin at 2:00 pm in the Chapel.
