Manda Lee Nimmons Sanders, age 96, of Fair Play, SC, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Seneca Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born November 19, 1924, in Oconee County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Norman Clifton Nimmons and Ada Mae Payne Nimmons. She was married to John Henry Sanders, Sr. until his death in 1990. Manda had a long career at Hexcel and retired after 43 years of faithful service to the company. She enjoyed telling stories about good old country music and her trips to the Grand Ole Opry. Manda loved her family and had a special love for her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She is survived by her son, John H. Sanders, Jr. of Fair Play, SC; daughter in law, Anne Sanders of Leesville, SC; 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Walter Calvin Sanders; and brother, Charley C. Nimmons. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 26, 2021, from 5:00-7:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Sunday, June 27, 2021, at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. David Hudgens officiating. Burial will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery.
