ECKJANUARY 3, 1923 - DeceMBER 11, 2009ANDERSON, SC ' Margaret Loftis Bowers Eck, age 86, of 403 Autumn Oaks, passed away after a seven year illness on Friday, December 11, 2009, at the Rainey Hospice House.Born in Iva, SC, on January 3, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Wilhite Loftis and Madge Rice Loftis. She retired from the United States Government, having served as an Administrative Assistant to the Colonel in the Army Air Force Exchange. Along with her late husband, Louis, she traveled often to Europe and Hawaii. Margaret was a very loving grandmother who was involved with the raising of her two grandchildren. She was a lifelong member of the Iva Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.Survivors include her son, Jeff Bowers of Anderson, SC; sister, Willene Ginn of Simpsonville, SC; two grandchildren: Scott Elliott Bowers and Kimberly Yvonne Wolfert and her husband, David; and two great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis H. Eck; and her two brothers, Howard Loftis and Willie Loftis.The Funeral Service will be held at 3pm on Tuesday, December 15, 2009, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, conducted by the Reverend Connie Mac Bowers.
