Margaret Smith Huggins, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Exalted Health and Rehab. Born in Lumberton, NC, she was the daughter of the late Henry Ranson Smith and the late Katie Fisher Smith. She was a graduate of Allenton High School in Lumberton, NC and attended Sanford Business College, in Sanford, NC. She was a retired accounting clerk at J.P. Stevens Mill, Appleton Plant and was the former owner of Lingerie Unlimited in Anderson the Lingerie Shop at the Calhoun Retirement Center also in Anderson. Mrs. Huggins was formerly employed by VISTA (Brown Lung Office) and was a volunteer for the Alzheimer's Association. At the beginning of the Head Start Program, she was employed as a bookkeeper. Margaret was a charter member of Victory Baptist Church in Anderson and served as the first secretary/treasurer. She was a current member of Homeland Park Baptist Church where she was a member of the Good Neighbor Sunday School Class. She was a member of Faith Fellowship Senior Club and owned a small catering business. She is survived by her son, Jack M. Huggins, Jr., of Iva, SC; and two grandchildren, Meghan Marie Huggins, of Iva, SC and Jonathan Middleton Huggins, of Iva, SC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Middleton Huggins, Sr.; and two brothers, Reverend William Cecil Smith and Eugene Smith. The Funeral Service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel on Sunday, December 21, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Jerry Parnell officiating.
