Margie Fay Brown Swaney, age 77, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 19, 2017. Born in Iva, SC, on January 6, 1940, she was the daughter of the late James Vernon Brown and the late Florence Lorene Jordan Brown. Flower gardening was her hobby, and her grandchildren were her joy. Margie was a member of Fants Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Charles F. Swaney; sons, Rick Boynton (Anita), of Liberty, SC, and Russell Swaney (Sandy), of Charlotte, NC; step-daughters, Beverly Dantzler (Sammy), and Catherine Freeman (Johnny), both of Walterboro, SC; brother, James Andrew Brown, of Iva, SC; sisters, Lois Williamson, of Starr, SC, Aileen Kay and Phyllis Kilgore, both of Anderson, SC; grandchildren, Jeremy and Lee Boynton, and Ryan and Alex Swaney; and great-grandchildren, Payden, Ella Grace, and Porter Boynton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Boynton; brother, Philip Brown; and a sister, Ann Moore. The funeral service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Sunday, January 22, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. Entombment will follow at Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Clemson, SC. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday, January 21, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family will be at their respective homes.
