Marybeth Evans of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Seneca-Clemson will officiate.Marguerite Brent, widow of Edwin Guy Brent Sr., peacefully passed on Friday, July 1, 2011, at home, surrounded by all of her children. She was the daughter of Lucile Catching Bridges and Sydney Anchor Boe. Marguerite grew up in Hazelhurst, Mississippi, in a home that is today on the National Register of Historic Places. She attended Col-Lin Junior College.She married Ed Brent after he had completed 40 bombing missions in the U.S. Army Air Corps, where he flew the B-26 in North Africa. They left Mississippi for Atlanta, Georgia after Ed became a pilot for Delta Air Lines in August, 1945, when Delta had only four DC-3 aircraft. Marguerite was a homemaker during her 56 years of married life. Upon Ed's death, she moved to Anderson to be close to her children.Marguerite loved her church, First Church of Christ, Scientist. She also enjoyed being a member of the Carolina Bridge Club and the Monday Bridge Club. She took Livelong Learning classes at Anderson University and computer classes at the Anderson County Library.She is lovingly survived by a sister, Lucile Boe Gibson; son, Ed Brent; a daughter, Anne Brent Wright and her husband, Jay and a daughter, Bev Brent. She had nine grandchildren; Monica Daniel, Jennifer Meder, Jessica Karaska, Martin Kohnen, Philip Kohnen, Catherine Brent, Christine Brent, Jim Wright and Jana Combs; and five great-grandchildren; Patrick Karaska, Brian Kohnen, Lucy Meder, Addison Combs and Alexa Combs.Contributions in memory of Marguerite Brent may be made to the charity of your choice.A message of condolence may be sent by visiting www.mcdougaldfuneral home.comMC DOUGALD FUNERAL HOME, Anderson, SC
