Marian June Ellenburg passed away peacefully on May 5, 2016 at the Rainey Hospice House. She was 88 and for the last three years lived at Summit Place Memory Care. Born in Pickens County on December 6, 1927, she was an honor graduate of Easley High School, Class of 1944 and of Drone's Business School. Marian worked as dental assistant in the office of Dr. Findley, but her greatest joy was being a faithful wife and devoted mother. During her children's early years, she had been involved with the PTA at Concord Elementary School and in the Cub Scouts. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Anderson and attended the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Her family expresses their gratitude for being raised in a loving Christian home by such a gracious mother and loving father. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 68 years, James M. "Jim" Ellenburg; children, Col. Dale F. Ellenburg and his wife Mary Ellen, David Ellenburg, Dan Ellenburg and his wife Libby, Doug Ellenburg and his wife Dana, and Debbie Martin and her husband Doug; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys Lee Patterson. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm with the funeral service following in the Chapel at 3:30pm with the Reverend Dr. James R. Thomason and Reverend Lawrence Webb officiating. Entombment will be held at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
