MARIE C. GARY April 8, 1923 - December 23, 2012 Marie Cain Gary, age 89, of 2117 Doctor Ward Road, Elberton, GA, formerly of Anderson, passed away at Elbert Memorial Hospital on Sunday, December 23, 2012. Born in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late John McDuffie Cain and the late Agnes Turner Cain. For many years, Marie was the loving and devoted wife of the Late Haskell Gary until his death. Mrs. Gary was retired from Scott Shirts where she was a machine operator for 25 years. She was a Charter member of Faith Baptist Church where she faithfully served as Sunday School Treasurer, sang in the choir, and was a member of the Sunshine Girls. Survivors include a granddaughter, Karon Toney and her husband, Stephen Albert, of Iva; and a great-granddaughter, Caleigh Marie Albert. In addition to her parents and her husband, Haskell, Mrs. Gary was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Annette Findley; brothers, Ethan, Harley, Reeves, James, and Vincent Cain; and a sister Lois Mildred Stephens. Funeral Services to honor the life of Marie C. Gary will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2012, at 3 PM at the Faith Baptist Church, with Rev. Paul Williams officiating. Interment will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery. The family will be at the residence of a sister-in-law, Janelle Cain, 305 Gordon Circle, Anderson, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 26, 2012, from 6 PM until 8 PM.
