Vaughn of Seneca and the daughter of the late Herbert Amos Carnell and Olive Grace Corkins Carnell. She was a civil service employee of the United States Government with over 26 years of service when she retired in June 1994. At the time of her retirement, she was working in the Social Security office in Anderson, SC. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Rick L. Vaughn of Belmont, Michigan, her step-sons, Jerry L. 'Buddy' Vaughn, Jr., of Anderson and Brian Keith Vaughn of Brunswick, GA, and her brother, Herbert F. Carnell of Seneca and her sister, Betty C. Wood of Battle Creek, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her son, Steven E. Vaughn; sister, Bernice May Carnell.The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 3, 2009, at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Dr. Tony Smith. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial park in Anderson.
